Corsair Concept Zeus Mousepad

I’m a huge fan on video games. I have been playing them from almost two decades now, ever since I got my first PC. And through out the years, I have gone through many keyboards and mice. But it’s 2017 now and I we need something new. Wireless charging could actually be the improvement I have been waiting for.

Having a wireless mouse is nothing new. But they have two main problems: lag and having to charge. With the newest wireless mice, such as the Logitech G900, the lag part has been pretty much removed. The Logitech is just as fast to respond as a wired mouse. Plus it even weighs less! But the problem is still the battery. This is especially the case for mice with charging docks. You can’t do anything for hours while it’s charging. And that’s really not an option in my opinion.

Corsair has understood this issue. They recently showcased their newest product: the Corsair Concept Zeus. Concept Zeus consists of two main devices: a mouse and a mousepad. The two are literally made for each other. The idea of the combination is to have a wireless mouse that doesn’t ever need to be charged. The both of the Zeus devices support Qi wireless charging. So every time you move the mouse around the pad, you are actually charging it. They have basically turned the mouse pad into a massive Qi charger. Thanks to this, you don’t need to worry about losing battery life.

They have also taken a step forward to make the mousepad even more useful. Corsair has also added a separate Qi charging spot on the top right corner. It actually charges much faster than the entire pad. So if you have been using the mouse without the pad and want to charge it faster, then you can just drop it onto the spot. Or you can also use the spot to charge your phone while playing a game.

At the moment, the Concept Zeus is still an idea and not an actual product for consumers. Hopefully we will be seeing more of these type of combinations soon. There are plenty of companies who are currently selling RGB mousepads. So it shouldn’t be a surprise if we saw mousepads with wireless chargers in the near future. I don’t have any information on the price either, but they will probably be pretty expensive when they first come out. But the sooner they hit the market, the sooner the prices will eventually drop.
